Hotel Alpina (Santa Maria, Switzerland)
The hotel Santa Maria is located in the center of Santa Maria and is directly submontane the Umbrailpass. We stayed there during our alpin cross tour 2006. We were cordially received by the family Alice and the service was very good. We were particularly pleased by the laundry service for our biking clothes and the delicious dinner with sufficient food. After the overnight in the comfortable rooms the arduous Umbrailpass was ready to come.

Villa Stella (Torbole, Italy)
After an arduous alping cross tour or training camps the Villa Stella is for us an ideal location to relax and recover. It is not very far located from the center of the city. It is also very calm there and it is surrounded by gardens. The Villa Stella is a very pleasantly family-led hotel and is the ideal starting point for daily tours. You also have the opportunity to go for a swim in the very nice pool. For our hungry stomachs the sumptuous breakfast buffet is definitely the right thing. The supervised bike storage not only let us but also our bikes sleep well. Send Angelica & Alessandro our regards if you come by.

Hotel Gasthof Neuner (Imst, Austria)
We also made a stop at the hotel Neuner during our alping cross tour 2006. We were very friendly welcomed by the family Gasser and spoiled with delicious meals. The comfortable sleeping in the generous rooms made the arduous raining and jawing match the day before forgotten. There was a opportunity to wash the bikes and keep them safe in a barn. Come pass - it is worthwhile itself!

Hotel Garni Valluela (Ischgl, Austria)
During the Transalp Challenge 2006 we stayed at the hotel Garni Valluela in Ischgl. The rooms are new and very comfortable with a view to the Idjoch. There is a small storage for the bikes. I'm sure you will have enough power to bike, after eating the delicious breakfast. This hotel is led by the friendly family Zangerl and it is a great place to be!
photo
Hotel Garni Panorama (Scoul, Switzerland)
The very kind Silvia Mayer gave us a friendly welcome during the Transalp Challenge 2006. The rooms are furnished very congenial, there was a shower for the bikes and a separate room to store them. The breakfast was prepared with love for the detail and was also sufficient for the requirements of Sabine Spitz, who also stayed there overnight. We felt very welcome!

Pension Gruber (Antholz, Italy)
During the Biathlon WM 2007 in Antholz we were lucky to get the accomodation in short term. The gusthouse is led familial, what you can feel everywhere. The mother cooks excellently and the daughter convinced by very friendly service. We felt very comfortable being there. Not only because of the pleasant atmosphere but also the comfortable rooms. In summer definitely a good address for biker!

alla Grotta (S.Giorgio/Arco, Italy)
The restaurant is located submontane the Monte Brione and it is a must for us with every visit of the Garda Lake. Isa and Ebi Rausch serve specialities of Trent with familiar charme. My personel favourite is "Carne Salade e Fasoi" (beef, inserted 40 days in spices), absolutly delicious with garlic beans. With the rustic furnishment, the large garden and the comfortable atmosphere it ranks among the most characteristic restaurants of the area. Reservation necessarily! Perhaps we will see each other...

Osteria Terrazze della Luna (Nago/Torbole, Italy)
Who would like to have their meal in a more sophisticated and great atmosphere, should come to Nago. Above Torbole you have a beautiful view on the "Lago". The small restaurant offers a few external places and inside it is rustic furnished. The service is absloute great! The waiters are very advertant and friendly. A very good alternative to the often overfilled restaurants down in Torbole. I'm sure Rafael, the joint owner is pleased to get kind regards from us.

Villa Emma (Torbole, Italy)
After an exhausting ride the Villa Emma hits the spot. There you can get the probably best pizza and pasta in Torbole and big servings to boot - it is worthwhile. You are cordially received in well spoken German, mostly by Claudio - the owner.
In addition to the restaurant the Villa Emma also offers accommodation. The rooms have basic but functional equipment. The Villa Emma is located only 100m of the town centre in a quiet neighbourhood and offers a TV room, bike storage and parking area. Furthermore: everyone who chooses demipension has free choice of the menu à la carte.

Residence Alle Palme (Riva del Garda, Italy)
The holiday resort is located only 300m of the lake in a quiet neighbourhood very close to the Old Town of Riva del Garda. The eleven apartments with comfortable measurements offer comfort to meet high demands. They include a tastefully equipped living-room with couch and a fully equipped kitchenette with dish washer, one or two double bedrooms, bathroom, balcony, elevator, central heating, coloured satellite TV and a safe. Linen, towels etc. for the bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette are included. Guests can use a backyard, garage, table tennis and bike storage.

Hotel Piccolo (Obereggen, Italy)
In 2007 we were guests in the Hotel Piccolo during our Alp Crossing. We were thrilled of the hospitality of the family Vannuccini and the delicious five-course-meal (even with refill). The rooms are very conveniently and modern equipped and they offer you a great view into the mountains of Südtirol. Most of the time we spent in the canvas chairs located at the grass terrace with exquisite wine (Lagrein Riserva). We were absolutely comfortable!

Hotel Hofer (St. Jakob in Pfitsch, Italy)
After we had left the Pfitscher Joch behind us the Hotel Hofer was the right place. We were warmly received and the excellent rooms offered us the needed relaxation after an exhausting stage. Culinary we were regaled by "Mum Hofer" with sufficient and tasty specialties. Our bikes were safely stored in the underground car park and the breakfast was so rich we didn't need to use one of the "Power Bars" before lunch time. By the way: Paul, the obliging son in service, is FC Bayern fan :-)!

Garni Diamant (St. Vigil at the Enneberg, Italy)
Family Erlacher cordially welcomed us. Shortly after arriving we could wash our bikes and clothing. The rooms were conveniently equipped and they had a rich breakfast buffet. Unfortunately we had arrived too late so we couldn't use the canvas chairs in the backyard anymore. For dining we were sent to the pizzeria opposite the Garni, which was worth to recommend. The bed-and-breakfast establishment is located in the heart of St. Vigil and offers you a wonderful view over the surrounded mountains. We are looking forward to stay there again.

Osteria Tamaro (Piazzogna, Swiss)
The final destination of our ALP-X in 2009 was the Osteria Tamaro at the Lago Maggiore.
Located 200 meters above the lake, one has a magnificent view of the Lago. All 5 rooms are lovingly decorated and leave nothing to be desired. The yard is perfect for relaxing after a strenuous tour. The manager herself cares about the physical well-being of the guests. Regional specialities freshly prepared simply taste great. When being lucky, you also come to enjoy an unforgettable Franconian cheesecake, if the grandmother from Nuremberg is visiting.
Many thanks for the wonderful time!

Pign Padua (Cavardiras, Swiss)
The massively build framehouse in Cavardiras is passionately managed by Eveline and Steve.
Both make you feel welcome. The 5 rooms are furnished in a functional and classy way and have a gigantic view. The lounge on the ground floor with couch and leather armchairs is perfect for a cosy get-together to exchange the bike experiences of the day. For the bikes we found a safe place as well.
We felt comfortable all around!
